Joint Visits

A joint visit to Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and Berkeley Castle.

Discover the history of the Berkeley’s, one of the oldest families in England, and enjoy spending time at the Wetlands Trust, founded by Sir Peter Scott in 1946, the birthplace of modern conservation

Just a hop, skip and a jump separate our two venues!

The magnificent Berkeley Castle founded in 1153 by the first Lord Berkeley, is the oldest medieval castle in the UK to have been occupied by the same family from its inception to this very day.

Slimbridge Wetlands Centre is the original Wetlands Centre set up in 1946 as a centre of science and conservation, 8 other Centres would follow in the UK.  Enjoy amazing wildlife close up or book a tour to explore the Scott House Museum, the home of Sir Peter Scott.

“Please thank your staff for making our visit so interesting. I received praise for both Guides as they were excellent with all the history of the castle including injecting a little humour in as well.  Both venues were very attentive to my Members and we couldn't have enjoyed our day any more”.

A joint visit to Jekka's Herb Farm and Berkeley Castle

We are so pleased to be offering this tailor made day out for your group to enjoy at our two impressive Gloucestershire Venues. Roughly 15 minutes by car/coach away from each other, our proposed itinerary offers you an idea of how your day could look at each venue.

We can be very flexible with timings and arrangements and we are happy for you to tell us how you would like your day to run if you don’t like our proposed schedule.

Jekka’s is a family run herb farm on the outskirts of Bristol with over 30 years’ experience in growing and using medicinal and culinary herb plants and seeds. At Jekka’s they believe in cultivating flavour and aim to educate and inspire gardeners and cooks of all ages.

Their herb experiences are based around Jekka's Herbetum, a living encyclopedia of over 400 culinary herbs which are displayed in raised beds at their award-winning herb farm.
