| JULY 24th: A CHILD IN THE FOREST by Winifred Foley The Castle Gardens open for picnics at 6.30pm and the performance begins at 7.30pm. This is a stage adaptation of Winifred Foley's book about her childhood in the Royal Forest of Dean, where her father was a miner. Although it was a childhood of poverty and hardship, her love of the people and places around her shines though this magical tale. Berkeley Castle is fortunate to have been approached by Jenny Wren Productions, who are staging the play (which has been broadcast on Woman's Hour on Radio Four).
