COMPETITION CLOSES 31st JULY 2010 - enter your photos NOW!

You are invited to enter our 2010 Photography Competition. The aim is to produce a Berkeley Town Calendar for 2011. Proceeds will be split between Cotswold Care Hospice and Berkeley Castle.
The categories for the competition are Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, capturing the characteristics that make Berkeley and the surrounding area what it is today.

The Three Musketeers - Sun 1st August, 7.30pm (gates open at 6.30pm) 

A one-off evening performance of The Three Musketeers by Jenny Wren Productions. Bring a picnic, a seat and a jumper. This annual event always proves to be very popular - whatever the weather! Performed on the Lower Lawn adjacent to the Lily Pond, or in the Great Hall if wet.

Children's Summer Holiday Activities in August

Throughout August special children's activities are taking place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  All activities are included within the Global Admission Ticket to the Castle, and take place throughout the day.

Tuesdays - Castle Tales - Story Telling - Come to the Story Telling tent on the Gun Terrace to hear Historic Tales from our Castle Story-Teller.

Wednesdays - Come & Try Archery - Meet Ollie, the Castle Marksman and have a go at Archery using a traditional English Longbow. This is something all the family can participate in - Come and have a go!

Thursdays - Castle Arts & Crafts - Our Castle Craft Team will be helping visitors create Castle inspired masterpieces from the Wood Shed Craft Area.

The Berkeley Show - Bank Holiday Monday 30th August 2010 (Castle Meadow)

Visit the Castle Meadow this August Bank Holiday Monday for the annual Berkeley Show. Organised by the the Berkeley Hunt Agricultural Society, this ever popular event has been running for over 100 years, and still brings in the crowds! A traditional country fair with all the usual displays, trade stands and refreshments. Why not visit the Castle grounds for free and call in for our delicious speciality home-made cakes or a Cream Tea in Tea Room.
